Office Music – Rockin’ Through the Day

Juliette rocks out!

It’s easy to overlook the influence that music has on people, particularly in an office (where radio days are often carefully planned and guarded). But it’s often the music that can provide motivation even when you aren’t aware of it and even make or break a day.

Let’s take this morning, for example. I walked into the office, swapped the station to my preferred channel for my radio day and immediately my morning became 10x more awesome. Why?

An Imagery Group Halloween Teaser!

October 20th, 2011 by Juliette

Here at the Imagery Group we love Halloween. We decorate the office, plan our costumes, get silly and lately we’ve been planning out our company Halloween video.

Last year we not only filmed our “Costume Parade” but several folks learned the beginning of the Thriller Dance and we gathered to perform that for the camera. It was fun and I’ve spent a year wondering how to top that.

Then I was hit by an idea a few weeks ago.

October Movie Madness!

October 4th, 2011 by Juliette
It's October already?!

It's October already?!?!

It’s October! Time to break out the coats and sweaters, air out the down comforters and begin decorating for Halloween. If you hadn’t guessed from the tone of my previous posts, Halloween is one of my absolute favorite holidays. So much so that I leave a bat on my front door year round. It’s also one of the few times of the year that I can run around the city streets in random costumes and not get too many strange looks.

Timing is everything...

The first rule about Netflix is “you don’t talk about Netflix”.

At least, that may be what Netflix CEO Reed Hastings may be wishing at this moment.

Convention giveaways and promotions at Dragon*Con

Jareth and Ninja Turtles

Juliette hangs with cool folks at the convention!

If you follow our Twitter and/or Facebook page (and if you’re not following, hop on over and join the conversation!) then you’d know that I’m back from a long weekend spent at a fun yearly geek convention known as Dragon*Con. It’s a convention with about 45,000 attendees that spans 5 hotels in downtown Atlanta and lasts from Friday through Monday. Four days of geeky events and things to do. (And yes, 4 days to wear crazy costumes. And never the same one twice.)

Of course that means that I had my eyes peeled for more than just awesome costumes and famous folks. I found myself fascinated by badges, buttons, ribbons and promotional products of all types that folks were handing out.

Name Badges – An Electrifying Product

August 30th, 2011 by Juliette

Sometimes I’m amused by my inability to NOT notice name badges even while watching shows or movies I am completely caught up in. And I did it again last night.

The joy of travel

It’s August and if you’ve been following our blog since last year you’ll know that it’s time for me to start my traveling! I tend to make two trips in the summer, one to Ohio to visit family and one to Atlanta to attend a convention, Dragon*Con. Not only does that mean packing for some fun trips but it’s time to make sure that all my traveling gear is in good condition and up to date!

The Imagery Group goes to the 2011 PPAMS Show!

August 9th, 2011 by Juliette

Yesterday and today several of our Imagery Group office folks attended the PPAMS (Promotional Products Association of the Mid-South) trade show in Murfreesboro, TN. It’s a fun regional trade show that is the perfect chance for some of our sales reps to explore the show floor and meet other folks in the industry. I was able to attend a couple of seminars on Monday and the keynote presentation this morning by Scott “The Name Tag Guy” Ginsberg.

Memorable Viral Marketing

August 3rd, 2011 by Juliette
Harvey Dent Dark Knight Campaign Materials

Some of the "Dark Knight" promo items

I was cleaning the computer room over the weekend and I ran across a poster I’d forgotten about…and found myself remembering the amazing viral marketing campaign that went with it. The poster is one that says “I Believe in Harvey Dent” and was from the “Dark Knight” (the most recent Batman movie) viral marketing craze. Being the huge Batman fan that I am, I remember putting my name and contact info into the viral sites, even calling a phone number listed on one to leave a “crime tip”, curious to see what would happen during the time leading up to the movie release.

Some viral marketing campaigns stall out or fade quickly. Not this one. It’s extremely interesting to see how thought out this marketing must have been before it was rolled out to the public and how well those marketers knew their audience. Not only that but this campaign is one that many folks still remember and comment on even three years later.

My First Job & Name Badge [Guest Post]

July 28th, 2011 by icglink

(Today we’re happy to showcase our first guest post! Brandon Berte from Motivators was happy to share his first name badge wearing experience. Be sure to check out Brandon & Motivators on Twitter for more awesome blog posts!)

When I was just 17 years old, my older brother got me my first real job as a sales associate in the business machines department at Staples, the office supply superstore.  I was pretty into technology at the time, and we sold a ton of new items, from promotional flash drives to laptops, so it was the perfect job for me.

The Science of Name Badge Deduction by Juliette “Sherlock” Vincent

Sherlock BBC

BBC's "Sherlock"

1. I observe everything.
2. From what I observe, I deduce everything.
3. When I’ve eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how mad it might seem, must be the truth.

Let’s face it, trying to order name badges can seem like an impossible task, one that even the famous Sherlock Holmes might hesitate to try. Someone may hand you a name badge and ask you to match it or maybe they just show you a logo and give you a vague idea to go on. When you check out your options online or in a catalog the number of options can be overwhelming. If you find your brain going fuzzy trying to find the correct badge to order it might be time to take a page out of Sherlock’s book.

Social Media Lessons Through Netflix Price Changes

July 12th, 2011 by Juliette
Netflix

Netflix

Having a huge following on social media can be a great thing. You make a post or tweet and thousands (or even over a million) people read it, pass it on, “like” it or comment on it. It’s important to make sure you have folks ready to respond to such a large following to both positive and negative comments. If you don’t things might get out of hand quickly…as Netflix is finding out.
